Extra-Curricular Activities

A rich student life makes St. Irene a whole-child learning experience.

In addition to our full complement of athletics for grades 5-8, St. Irene School offers a wide range of student activities to help children pursue their interests with help and guidance of adults.

Newspaper Club

Leader:  Mrs. Jacqueline Reid

Newspaper Club provides an opportunity for students to learn about different types of articles and contributions to a newspaper.  Students also assist in the production of our annul Junior High Shakespeare production.

Our band program is coordinated with Music Education Services.  Instruction takes place during and after the school day. Our band students perform several concerts throughout the year with students from other schools.  Available to students in grade 4-8 (fee)

Children’s Choir

Meeting weekly, our choir sings at school Masses, and occasional weekend/holiday Masses. Open to students in grades 4-8

Scouting is fun with a purpose! St. Irene School students participate in several Girl Scout troops, a Boy Scout and a Cub Scout pack.  Scouting options are open to girls and boys beginning in grades K (girls) and 1 (boys).
